Weekly Review 5th-11th February 2018

Firstly I would like to apologise for the lateness of this weeks review being uploaded. I will ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Another two winners this week with Destiny continuing her great form to make it four wins in her last six and Lola comfortably seeing off her opponent’s over 540m.

Club Dogs Performances

Bullseye Destiny – Destiny won on her return to 540m this week, her excellent run of form continues and she has now finished in the top 2 in all of her last 6 races. After trapping really well she turned handy behind trap 2 from that point she always looked the winner. She hit the front of the 4th bend and powered home to win by nearly 3 lengths in a very impressive time of 34.60.

Bullseye Dolly – Dolly’s only run came on Thursday and after some terrific early pace shown from traps 4 and 6 dolly could never get the clear run needed from trap 5. After being baulked and crowded throughout the race, she finished 5th. Dolly isn’t currently getting the best of draws being surrounded by early pace it is frustrating but her day will come.

Bullseye Lola – Lola ran on Tuesday and managed to make it 2 winners on the day for the racing club. She looked to have a fair chance in the morning as long as she managed to navigate the first bend clearly. Then with two late withdrawals and the race being turned into a 4 runner event she comfortably saw off the opposition by the final bend going away to win by a length. Lola also appeared on RPGTV on Saturday in a tough A5. Which is probably a grade too high for her too be competitive over 380m. She ended up finishing 6th but came home safe which is the main thing.

Ballymac Cooba – Cooba ran on Friday showing plenty of pace to the bend after missing the break and also staying on very strongly to be a long way clear at the pickup. It was a very promising run from her. I am really looking forward to her run next week.

Bullseye Bully - Bully left the kennel and is now in the hands of the brilliant FOCRG. It was very sad to see him leave but he will now be found a lovely home to enjoy his well-deserved retirement.

Other news

The Golden Jacket started at Crayford and is going to bring a lot of top class dogs at Crayford, so we hope for some great racing over the next few weeks.

The racing club purchased another dog Ballymac Cooba which will be renamed Bullseye Cooba after the results of the twitter poll. Thank you to members which suggested names for her.
